Expressive Acrylic Painting Workshop

Titles and Descriptions:

These Expressive Acrylic Painting workshops offer a wonderful opportunity to learn to paint more expressively and personally. Discover techniques that lend themselves to increasing the tendency to experiment, loosen up, and be more expressive. Learn about acrylic paints and products and how to use collaging, underpainting, and layering techniques as you bring more life to your paintings and more enjoyment to your painting process. The workshops are open to participants with all levels of experience.

 

Teachers can get Continuing Education credit for some of Jacqui's classes: Jacqui is an adjunct professor through Seattle Pacific University, so some of her classes can be taken by teachers for continuing education credit.

Summer Painting Class [Monday - Friday mornings, 10 to 12:30]  All Ages

Description: This class is for students (age 10 to adult) at all levels of experience. Students will work on individual projects with the choice of working from a still life or photo, or doing an abstract. This is a great class for beginners or for people who have been painting for a while and want to take a new creative step forward. Think about taking this class with your children or grandchildren. This is also a great class if you've been away from art or want to start. All materials included.

-Overview of composition

-Stages of a painting: from idea to finish

Expressive Acrylic Painting

Description: Learn about acrylic paint and the huge assortment of acrylic products. Discover techniques that lend themselves to increasing the tendency to experiment, loosen up, and be more expressive. This workshop is offered as a 1 day, 2 day, 3 day, and 5 day workshop. The subject matter is the same for all these workshops. The multiple-day workshops have more depth and detail in the subject matter and much more time to paint, receive feedback, and discuss (and integrate) your learning.

Expressive Acrylic & Mixed Media Painting [This workshop is similar to Expressive Acrylic Painting, but with more of a focus on using collage, acrylic mediums, and texturing]

Description: Learn about acrylic paint and the huge assortment of acrylic products. Discover techniques that lend themselves to increasing the tendency to experiment, loosen up, and be more expressive. This workshop is offered as a 1 day, 2 day, 3 day, and 5 day workshop. Description: Learn about the process of abstraction and how you can use abstracting to make your artwork more creative, loose, personal, and interesting.

Description: Learn ways to become more creative and to enjoy your painting process more. This workshop will provide you with experiences and information that you can take with you to your own studio.

Description: This is a wonderful workshop to help you find more meaning in your art process. Students will explore expressive aspects of their painting process. There will also be discussion of theoretical and technical information to support further development of each participant’s individual style.

Discover how to use layers, a variety of edges, and complimentary colors to bring more life to your paintings and more enjoyment to your painting process. This workshop is open to participants with any level of experience.
